What are pending transactions?

Pending transactions are purchases or authorizations that have been submitted to your account but haven’t yet been finalized by the merchant. They reduce your available balance immediately, but the final amount may change once the merchant settles the charge—usually within 1 to 3 business days.

Why did a transaction disappear from my activity?

If a pending transaction disappears, it means the merchant didn’t finalize the charge. This often happens with gas stations, hotels, or trial subscriptions where an authorization hold was placed but not completed. The held funds will return to your available balance automatically.

What should I do if I don’t recognize a transaction?

First, check with anyone else who may have access to your card and review recent purchases. If it’s still unfamiliar, you can report the transaction directly in the Klutch app or contact support. We'll investigate and help you file a dispute if needed.

Why was my transaction declined?

Transactions can be declined for several reasons, including insufficient funds, daily spending limits, security flags, or merchant category restrictions. In many cases, the Klutch app will display the reason for the decline.

If the decline was caused by a spending control, locked card, or a custom rule you’ve set (such as merchant limits or category blocks), you’ll receive a text notification. To temporarily bypass the block, simply reply YES to that message—this will unlock the rule for 5 minutes, allowing the transaction to go through. If you’re unsure why a transaction was declined, contact support and we’ll help review it with you.

Can I use my Klutch card internationally?

Yes. Your Klutch card works anywhere Visa is accepted around the world. However, we may block high-risk international merchants or flag unexpected activity as a security precaution. If you plan to travel, let us know in advance through the app so we can help ensure uninterrupted access.

Please note that cash back rewards are not available for international transactions.

Are there limits on daily spending ?

Klutch does not impose fixed daily spending limits. However, we do have fraud controls in place that may temporarily block or flag certain transactions to protect your account and prevent abuse. These controls are adaptive and may vary based on transaction type, location, merchant category, and your past activity.

If a transaction is blocked, you’ll typically receive a notification and can often approve it by replying to a text message. For any issues or to review a specific block, you can contact support.

Can I use my card at an ATM?

No, Klutch does not currently support ATM transactions. You cannot use your Klutch card to withdraw cash or check balances at ATMs. All activity must be conducted through the app or with merchants that accept Visa for purchases.

Can I see my transaction history?

Yes. You can view all your past and current transactions in the Klutch app, including pending and posted charges. You can also download monthly statements or search by merchant or date.

What if I was charged twice for the same transaction?

If you see two identical charges, it may be a duplicate authorization. One will typically drop off within a few business days. If both charges settle and you didn’t authorize them, contact support to file a dispute.

How do refunds work?

When a merchant issues a refund, it usually takes 3 to 7 business days to appear on your account, depending on the merchant’s processing time. You’ll see the credit automatically in your transaction history once it’s posted.

How do recurring charges work?

Recurring charges are automatic payments set up with a merchant—like subscriptions or memberships. These will appear in your transaction history like any other purchase. You can manage or cancel these directly with the merchant, or set spending controls using a virtual card to avoid unexpected renewals.

Can I use virtual cards for subscriptions or one-time purchases?

Yes. Klutch virtual cards are perfect for subscriptions, trials, or one-time purchases. You can create cards with spending limits, expiration rules, and merchant-specific controls. This helps prevent unwanted charges or abuse.

How does cashback work?

Cashback earned on eligible purchases is applied as a statement credit on your account. We post the credit the following month, and you’ll see it reflected on your next statement. You don’t need to take any action—rewards are automatically calculated and applied.
