How long does it take to complete the application?
The Klutch application is designed to be quick and user-friendly. Most people are able to complete the full process in under five minutes. You'll be asked to provide some basic personal and financial information, and in some cases, we may request additional documentation to verify your identity.
How quickly will I know if I’m approved?
Many applicants receive an approval decision within seconds of submitting their application. However, in some cases, we may need to manually review your information. If that happens, we’ll notify you by email and let you know if we need additional documentation or clarification. Most reviews are completed within 1 to 2 business days.
Can I use a P.O. Box as my address?
No. We require a valid residential street address for identity verification and regulatory compliance purposes. Applications that list a P.O. Box or commercial mailbox may be delayed or declined.
Can I use a VoIP phone number on my application?
While you can technically enter a VoIP number, we strongly recommend using a mobile phone number instead. VoIP numbers often can’t be reliably linked to a specific individual, which makes it difficult for us to verify your identity. This may prevent us from completing your application or from contacting you if additional steps are required. For the smoothest experience, use a phone number that’s associated with your name and carrier.
What states is Klutch currently available in?
Klutch is available in most U.S. states, but there may be exceptions due to local financial regulations. During the application process, we’ll let you know immediately if your state is not currently supported. We are actively working to expand availability nationwide.
Do I need to be a U.S. resident to apply?
Yes. At this time, Klutch is only available to individuals who reside in the United States and have a valid Social Security Number. We do not support applications from U.S. territories or foreign nationals who are not legal residents.
Do I have to be over 18 to apply?
Yes. You must be at least 18 years old to apply for either the Klutch Credit Card or the Klutch Spend Card. This is a legal requirement for entering into a financial agreement.
Does Klutch report to credit bureaus?
Klutch offers two different products: the Klutch Credit Card and the Klutch Spend Card. Only the Klutch Credit Card reports to the major credit bureaus. This means your payment history, credit utilization, and account status are shared with the bureaus and can help you build or improve your credit score when used responsibly.
The Klutch Spend Card is a collateralized credit card that requires a security deposit, but it does not report to credit bureaus. It’s designed to give you access to many of the same features as the credit card while helping you build a track record with Klutch—even if your credit profile doesn’t currently qualify for the unsecured product.
Do I need to unfreeze my credit reports to apply?
Only if you’re applying for the Klutch Credit Card. Because it is an unsecured credit product, we need to access your credit report to evaluate your application. If your credit file with Equifax is frozen, you’ll need to temporarily lift the freeze before applying. Once the application review is complete, you can re-freeze your report.
If you’re applying for the Klutch Spend Card, no credit check is required, and there’s no need to unfreeze your credit reports.
Will you pull my credit report?
Yes—but only if you’re applying for the Klutch Credit Card. We perform a credit check to evaluate your eligibility. In most cases, this begins with a soft pull during pre-qualification. If you proceed with the full application and are approved, we follow up with a hard inquiry, which may appear on your credit report.
If you’re applying for the Klutch Spend Card, we do not perform a credit check, and your credit report will not be accessed.
If I’m not approved for the Klutch Credit Card, can I still get the Klutch Spend Card?
Yes. If your application for the Klutch Credit Card is not approved, you may still be eligible for the Klutch Spend Card. This option gives you access to many of the same features, including the Klutch app and virtual card access, without requiring a credit check.
Will using the Klutch Spend Card improve my chances of getting the Credit Card later?
Yes. Using the Klutch Spend Card responsibly can help establish a positive history with us. Regular use, avoiding declined transactions, and consistent engagement with the platform may improve your eligibility for the Klutch Credit Card in the future.
What documents might I need to provide?
In certain situations, we may need to verify your identity with additional documentation. This typically includes a government-issued photo ID and a selfie, especially if the information on your credit report does not match the data you provided. We’ll notify you by email if anything further is required.
How is my personal information protected during the application?
Your data security is a top priority. We use industry-standard encryption, secure servers, and robust access controls to ensure that your personal information is protected throughout the application process. We never sell or share your personal data without your explicit consent.
Can I reapply if I was declined?
If you were not approved, we recommend waiting a few months before submitting a new application. In the meantime, you may consider using the Klutch Spend Card to establish a history with us. A decline does not permanently affect your eligibility, and we encourage you to reapply when your financial situation or credit profile improves.
